The agreement was signed between EWIS and the Mahaweli Authority with the presence of Mr. Ariyaratne - Project Director Training (Mahaweli), Mr. Aselaarachchi - Training Cordinator (Mahaweli) and The Assistant General Manager of the EWIS e-career Training Centre.
Established in year 1986, e-career training centre has completed 22 years of expertise in the Sri Lankan IT training sector. Equipped with latest infrastructure facilities and teaching aids, the centre consists of facilitators who are highly qualified professionals in their respective areas.
Covering a wide range of carrier oriented training programs; EWIS e-career training centre could serve students with a variety of interests. Its training programs include, ICDL, Information Technology, Hardware & Networking, Programming (C, C++, Java, VB etc.), Systems and Network Administrations (Windows NT/2000/XP, UNIX, Linux, OS/400 (Using AS/400), Lotus Notes Development & Administration, Web designing, Graphic designing etc.)
Since e-career training centre is a career oriented institution, management offer flexibility in training programs to make students life easy. With this objective, the training programs are classified in to; Mobile Training, concessionary rates for disadvantaged areas, training for students who require specialized training in a specific area, corporate packages for employees.
Apart from the already available training programs, e-career training centre is willing to carry out tailor-made programs to suit requirements of different institutions. Experts at the centre will analyze the background and requirements of that particular institution and will come up with an innovative, customized training solution.

( Association of Computer Training Organizations of Sri Lanka. ), an accredited Training Centre and a Testing Centre for the International Computer Driving License, approved by ICDL (UK), Training Partner of NAITA and a Principal Partner to conduct Sri Lanka Computer Driving License (SLCDL), approved by NAITA. It is also an authorized Training Centre to conduct Training Programs for Tharuna Aruna (Ministry of Labour and Employment) and a Training Partner of JobsNet (National Employment Sourcing & Delivery Project (Ministry of Labour and Employment / Ceylon Chamber of Commerce)
The centre has also networked with a number of key Information and Communication Technology agencies. It has a strategic alliance with the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) to manage the Franchise Training Centre and conduct the BSc. Degree Programs affiliated Curtin University of Technology, Australia in the Kandy district.
Over the years centre has been in the forefront of many challenging Training Projects. Namely, Teacher Training under the patronage of the Ministry of Education (Secondary Education Modernization Project) from 2004 – 2008, Youth Corps Leader and Ranger Training, under the patronage of Ministry of Policy Development and Implementation from 2003 – 2006, Professional Diploma in ICT for the G.C.E. (A/L) completers under the patronage of Ministry of Education (Distance Education Modernization Project) during the years – 2004 – 2008, ICT Skills Training for People’s Bank – Island wide during the years 2003 – 2008, ICT Skills development for the Staff of the three Revenue Departments of Sri Lanka.

EWIS group has been a socially responsible corporate citizen through out and e-career training centre also takes initiatives to take this policy forward. With the Ceylon Tobacco Company they focus on IT Training in the economically disadvantaged regions. At present it operates IT Programs in Watareka and Rambukkana and is planning programs for 8 other Centers in similar areas.
