A free health camp was held for the Tsunami victims of Komari, Ullai & Panama at Arugambay. A team of doctors & medical staff lead by Dr. Lakshman Weerasena along with our staff members participated at this free health camp.

Furthermore, our staff members volunteered in cleaning Kumara Kashyapa Primary School, Ambalangoda and Mahamaya Central College, Matara which were affected by the Tsunami, prior to re-opening the schools for the new academic year.
EWIS collaborated with the Ministry of Education in a project estimated to cost Rs.60mn, to reconstruct Madampagama Central College, Ambalangoda which was heavily damaged by the Tsunami disaster.

Within 48 hours of the Tsunami, a team of staff members visited Muttur and 10 other locations in Trincomalee and distributed food and other essential items to the Tsunami victims.
